 Our new gourmet line is in, and it is WONDERFUL. Created by Chef Alice, who has her own restaurant in Mississippi, it features a broad range of soups and bisques, her fantastic cajun shrimp & grits, and a broad line of dips. They all mix up in mere minutes and require only simple ingredients that can be found right here on the mountain.

Each weekend we will offer a tasting table featuring some of Alice's delights, along with another line we carry that has some of the best candied jalapeños and raspberry chipotle that you've ever put in your mouth!

Mardi Gras is Just Around the Corner

If you haven't experienced Cloudcroft's Mardi Gras, then you are missing out! Missing out on live music, good food, and a fun parade. This year's theme is "Monster Mash." You can purchase t-shirts at the tent, or through the Cloudcroft Chamber of Commerce. The fun will start this Friday (Feb. 28), so mark your calendars and boogie on up into the clouds. Naturally, we want you to stop by Mountain Monster while you're here. We are located at the East end of the Burro Street Exchange. Vous y Voir!

More Crazy Cool Things

Drink mixes of all types.

 Just Arrived….our drink mixes. AND, we have 10 great flavors. Choose from a Classic, Strawberry or Maui Mango Margarita, Mojito, Pina Colada, Peach Belini, Vodka Lemonade, Chocolate Martini, Wine or Sangria flavors. You can make them 3 ways - "on the rocks," in a blender, or as a slush in a baggie (my favorite).

I'm not much of a drinker, but for you, I have tried the Margarita, the Vodka Lemonade and the Maui Mango, and they are all good.

We'll even throw in the baggie…you just add the booze.

On the artistic front, check out "Pete" the pizza cutter. This is definitely pretty enough to leave on the counter. Don't limit yourselves to pizza, either, because he's big enough to slice through a sandwich, quesadilla, or most anything else…and he'll do it with style. The same artist also does the cute little red heart bowls and heart spoons.

Know a hunter? Then you know they are out there before sunrise…in the cold. Why not give them something to make those mornings a bit more comfy? Our Camo bag includes an insulated thermos, two canisters that will hold sugar and cream (or whatever else you want to spike your coffee with), 2 mugs, 2 spoons, a couple of napkins, and a pouch to hold whatever else you need.

Valentine's is Around the Corner

Valentine's Day will be here before you know it. Are you ready? I put together a few gift ideas that might get you started down the path of love…

 How about a beautiful box of our incredible handmade truffles, but with a twist. Leave one spot open for a little something special like these sparkly earrings. The whole thing, earrings and all, is under $50!

Is your lady special enough to merit goddess status? Then why not remind her of that every day with the "Goddess" block print by local artist Judy Siebenaler? These are beautifully framed mixed media block prints. Every time that special someone looks at it she'll think of you.

Want to try simple and elegant? Check out the local antique and thrift stores for a pretty little crystal glass. Put one of our fabulous truffles in it and tie a bow on it. If you REALLY want to impress, you might tie a pretty little ring or some earrings onto that bow.

If none of these ideas float your boat, then just come in and we'll talk. I bet we can come up with something. Remember, we're Mountain Monster, so your friends won't believe you when you tell them what you saw!

Fun New Magnets

I just returned from market. While most things ship…and some won't be here for 8 weeks, I was able to carry just a few things home.

I'm excited about all of the new and INCREDIBLE things that I found. How about an iPad cover hand made in the USA from vintage military canvas? Yep…when I look for unique, I mean UNIQUE. (I'll post those pictures as soon as I get them.) Meanwhile, I can post a few pictures of some of the things I unpacked today...

I loved these rustic little magnets. They're different, colorful and useful. I'm waiting for the handmade tin hearts that they can attach to (that makes a really cute message board), but hey, if you want to stick one on the fridge they'll work for that, too!

Then there are these vintage magnets. They are hand made by a lady who has a funky vintage shop in Arizona. She uses recycled glass and images reproduced from actual vintage pieces. The whole thing is then wrapped in copper tape. What fun!

Junkyard Deer

No, we didn't run over a trash can and decide to mount it (though that was pretty funny when someone suggested it…) These are our Junkyard Deer. No animals were harmed in the mounting of these heads. Picture one in your cabin and the smiles it will bring!
